Philosophy

How I think about building.

    The problem is the work

    Most product failures are correctly-built answers to badly-framed questions. Time spent sharpening the problem statement is the highest-leverage time available, and it is almost always the first thing cut.

  • 02

    Ship to learn, not to launch

    A release is an experiment with consequences. The point of shipping early is not speed for its own sake — it's converting opinion into evidence while the cost of being wrong is still low.

  • 03

    Constraints are the design

    Unlimited scope produces incoherent products. The decisions that define a product are the ones about what it will refuse to do, and those decisions have to be made deliberately rather than by attrition.

  • 04

    Technology serves the outcome

    New capability is only interesting where it changes the economics of a problem. Knowing when a model is the answer requires equally knowing the many cases where it is expensive theater.

I’m an Associate Software Engineer at X4 Digital Labs, with a background spanning full-stack development, machine learning, NLP, and computer vision. That range is useful less for what it lets me build than for what it lets me judge — which technical bets are worth their cost, and which are expensive detours.
